Lovebytes 2008 invites you to experience challenging and experimental new art and design at the wave-front of digital culture. Everything is free and open to everyone, welcoming both newcomers and seasoned festival goers alike.

This bite-sized programme has been prepared in collaboration with four guest curators who we've invited to create their own individual events. They are all internationally recognised and respected as pioneers and innovators in their fields and they are all based here in Sheffield (with the exception of Olsen who've come all the way from Leeds). Exploring the extremes of digital creativity from their own particular perspective, each has contributed to this inspiring programme of performances, talks, exhibitions and workshops bringing together artists, musicians, filmmakers and designers from around the world.

Programme Summary.
Events take place over two days at a variety of venues in Sheffield City centre:

Algorithm presents a unique evening of international digital sound performance featuring snd, Stephan Mathieu and the UK debut of COH at Sylvester Space.

Olsen provides a nutritious matinee screening of experimental film and sound art, with tea and homemade cake.

Advanced Beauty receives its world premiere screening at the Showroom Cinema. This collection of audio-visual sound sculptures by 18 international artists, is also being exhibited as a multi-screen video installation at the Millennium Galleries 9 May - 8 August. Curated by Sheffield based creative studio Universal Everything and the sound artist Freeform.

Advanced Beauty contributor Karsten Schmidt gives a masterclass in generative design and GOTO10 lead a 2-day video workshop using pure:dyne free and open source software at Access Space.
